Under the base contract, Dineen performed the construction of a one-storey addition to the existing facility to house new emergency generators and a new main electrical room. The project included replacing the existing 208V service with 600V service, along with upgrades to the sprinkler and mechanical systems including an air handling unit, exhaust fans and boilers.
Due to a fire prior to Dineen mobilizing onsite, all the mechanical and electrical systems were affected and the entire hospital was shut down. Lakeridge Health called on Dineen to lead the emergency restoration efforts. The hospital was fully shutdown and patients were transferred 25km away to Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Damages had to be assessed and immediate reconstruction was required to restore operations and serve the local community. Dineen was tasked with delivering this critical work within an accelerated 10-month schedule. Dineen conduct detailed investigations and made recommendations to the client for opportunities to upgrade and bring areas up to code. Effective coordination was required to assemble a team of mechanical, electrical, and specialty trades to complete the project in the set period of time.
Dineen performed upgrades to the Kitchen, Operating Room, Boiler Room, Elevator Modernization, Heliport Upgrade, Exterior Refresh, Flooring Replacement and Morgue Renovations.
