Dineen was contracted to add elevators that serviced the pedestrian bridge and the train platforms. One elevator for the eastbound platform and one elevator for the westbound platform. Extensive shoring was required to establish the foundations such that there would be no influence to the active train rails about 9’ away. Self-supporting structural steel towers were erected with cantilevered walkways from the towers to the pedestrian bridge. The steel towers were clad with glazing and composite panels. The elevators were installed within each of the structural towers.
