Location: Port Perry, Ontario
Completion Date: November 2018
Under the base contract, Dineen peformed the construction of a one-storey addition to the existing facility to house new emergency generators and a new main electrical room.
Due to a fire prior to Dineen mobilizing onsite, all the mechanical and electrical systems were affected and the entire hospital was shut down. The damages were assessed and reconstruction work was taken up on a war footing as timely completion was critical. The hospital was shutdown to the local community and patients were transferred to Lakeridge Health Oshawa which was 25km away. The client required the hospital to open to the local community in a short span of less than one year.
The shutdown allowed Dineen to open ceilings and conduct detailed investigations. Dineen made recommendations to the client for opportunities to upgrade and bring areas up to code. Effective coordination and collaboration was required to put together a team of mechanical / electrical and trades to complete the project in the set period of time.
Dineen performed upgrades to the Kitchen, Operating Room, Boiler Room, Elevator Modernization, Heliport Upgrade, Exterior Refresh, Flooring Replacement and Morgue Renovations.
